Shane Bieber pitched a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts, Greg Allen had three hits and an RBI, and the visiting Cleveland Indians defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 4-0 Wednesday night.
Bieber (10-3) walked one and hit a batter as the Indians won the rubber match of the three-game series and completed the season series against the Blue Jays with six wins in seven games.
Toronto's only hit was Eric Sogard's leadoff double in the seventh inning.
It was Bieber's second complete game this season, both shutouts. He threw a five-hitter against the Baltimore Orioles on May 19.
Bieber held the Blue Jays to two hits and two runs but did not factor in the decision when the Indians won 3-2 in Cleveland on April 5.
Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman (6-11), a subject of trade rumors as the July 31 deadline approaches, allowed one run, five hits and one walk while striking out six in seven innings.
The Indians opened the scoring in the fifth inning. Allen singled with two outs and came home on a double to left by Kevin Plawecki. The Blue Jays challenged the play at the plate, but the review upheld the safe call.
After Sogard opened the seventh with a ground-rule double to right, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. was hit by a pitch with one out. Sogard took third when Vladimir Guerrero Jr. flied out to center, but Justin Smoak struck out to end the threat.
Smoak was the hero of Toronto's win over Cleveland on Tuesday, hitting a game-tying homer in the ninth inning and a game-winning single in the 10th.
Daniel Hudson replaced Stroman in the eighth and allowed a one-out double to Francisco Lindor, who promptly stole third and scored on Oscar Mercado's sacrifice fly to center.
Toronto reliever Wilmer Font allowed two runs in the ninth. Jose Ramirez singled, took third on a ground-rule double by Jake Bauers and scored on Jordan Luplow's checked-swing groundout to the pitcher. Allen followed with an RBI single.
