Marcus Stroman cruised through seven innings, rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits and scored three runs, and the visiting Toronto Blue Jays pounded the hapless Detroit Tigers 12-1 on Friday.

Stroman (6-10), who has been mentioned prominently in trade rumors, scattered six hits while holding the Tigers scoreless. He walked none and struck out five before the bullpen lost the shutout bid.

Eric Sogard supplied three hits, scored twice and knocked in two runs while Teoscar Hernandez blasted his 12th homer and drove in two.

Danny Jansen added three RBIs for the Blue Jays, who had lost four of their last five games. Freddy Galvis also had three hits while scoring a run and knocking in another.

JaCoby Jones, who was activated off the 10-day IL prior to the game, had three hits and scored the lone run for Detroit, which has lost five straight and 10 of its last 11.

Starter Jordan Zimmermann (0-7) surrendered six runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Sogard led off the game with a double and scored with two out on a Zimmermann wild pitch.

Toronto made it 2-0 in the second on singles by Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio and Jansen's fielder's choice groundout.

The Blue Jays scored four runs in the fourth to take a comfortable lead. They loaded the bases with one out and scored the first run on a Hernandez single. Sogard followed with a single to plate two more runners and Galvis smacked another hit to score Hernandez.

Hernandez led off the sixth with a homer to left, sparking a five-run outburst. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. singled in the second run and Guerrero Jr. hit an RBI single two batters later. Jansen brought home two more runs with a single to left.

Justin Smoak's RBI grounder in the seventh brought home the Blue Jays' 12th run in the seventh.

Gordon Beckham drove in Jones with a groundout in the eighth to put the Tigers on the board.
