Colin Moran's RBI infield single snapped a tie in the top of the ninth inning Tuesday night and lifted the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates to a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Pirates snapped a four-game losing streak, while the Cardinals had their three-game winning streak ended.

With one out in the ninth, Cardinals closer Carlos Martinez (2-1) plunked Starling Marte. Josh Bell followed with a single through a vacated shortstop to send Marte to third.

Kolten Wong then made a diving stop of Moran's grounder but lost the ball as he tried to flip over and fire to second. Wong picked up the ball and threw to first but Moran slid in ahead of the throw as Marte scored.

After Corey Dickerson walked, Bell scored when Kevin Newman beat out the back end of a potential double play.

Francisco Liriano (4-1) earned the win with a perfect eighth. Felipe Vazquez earned his 21st save by striking out two in a 1-2-3 ninth.

Cardinals left fielder Tyler O'Neill was the only player on either team with two hits. O'Neill is batting .389 (14-for-36) with three homers and nine RBIs in 10 games this month.

The teams ended a scoreless tie with a run each in the fifth.

Cardinals starter Jack Flaherty was no-hitting the Pirates until Dickerson doubled with one out. Newman followed with an RBI single.

Flaherty got even against Pittsburgh starter Dario Agrazal in the bottom of the inning, when he doubled home Harrison Bader, who had doubled with one out.

Agrazal was chased with runners on first and third and none out in the seventh, but Richard Rodriguez entered and retired all three batters he faced.

Flaherty allowed the one run on three hits and three walks while striking out eight over seven innings. Agrazal, making his fourth big-league start, gave up the one run on five hits and three walks without a strikeout over six-plus innings.
