Ryan McMahon had three hits and three RBIs to help lift the Colorado Rockies to a 10-9 win against the Cincinnati Reds in the rubber contest of their three-game series on Sunday afternoon in Denver.
Raimel Tapia, Tony Wolters, Trevor Story and Garrett Hampson had two hits apiece for the Rockies, and Wolters and Daniel Murphy each drove in two runs.
Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela (8-6) earned the win despite allowing eight runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked two.
Reds starter Tyler Mahle (2-10) allowed 10 runs (six earned) and 12 hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter.
Scooter Gennett had two hits and two RBIs for Cincinnati. Kyle Farmer also had two hits, Jose Peraza blasted a pinch-hit two-run homer and Jesse Winker drove in two runs before leaving with a left oblique injury.
The Rockies scored six runs in the fifth inning to take a 10-5 lead.
Murphy's two-run double gave Colorado the lead for good at 6-5. McMahon then knocked in Murphy with a triple, and McMahon scored on a single by Wolters to make it 8-5.
The Rockies tacked on two more runs in the inning on an error by Reds center fielder Nick Senzel and a run-scoring groundout by Senzatela.
The Reds answered with their second four-run inning of the game to pull within a run. Peraza's pinch-hit home run in the sixth trimmed Colorado's lead to 10-9.
Scott Oberg pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the Rockies, and Wade Davis pitched the ninth for his 14th save.
For the second consecutive game, the Rockies took a 4-0 lead in the first inning only to have the Reds quickly tie it up and then move ahead.
McMahon had a two-run double in the first inning and he came home on an RBI single by Wolters to make it 4-0.
Winker's two-out two-run single in the second tied the score at 4.
The Reds moved ahead 5-4 in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Eugenio Suarez.
