Against Pirates closer Felipe Vazquez (2-1), Milwaukee's Orlando Arcia, Manny Pina and Cain singled in succession to produce the winning run.

Jesus Aguilar and Pina each hit a two-run homer in the eighth, Aguilar added an RBI single and Arcia hit a solo homer for Milwaukee, which broke a three-game losing streak and had entered the game having not scored in their last 23 innings.

Pittsburgh scored five runs in the ninth for a 6-6 tie, on Starling Marte's sacrifice fly, Josh Bell's three-run homer, his 27th homer of the season, and Jung Ho Kang's solo shot, his ninth of the season.

Pittsburgh starter Steven Brault left in the fifth inning because of left shoulder discomfort. He gave up one run and three hits, with four strikeouts and two walks, in four-plus innings.

Milwaukee starter Zach Davies gave up four hits in five scoreless innings, with four strikeouts and one walk.

Junior Guerra (3-1) was charged with one of the runs in the ninth inning but got the final four outs to record the win.

In the fourth, Milwaukee ended its scoreless string at 26 innings and took a 1-0 lead. Yasmani Grandal led off with a gap double and moved to third on Mike Moustakas' groundout. An out later, Aguilar singled to right to drive in Grandal.

Arcia walked to lead off the fifth, and immediately after the fourth ball, Brault motioned to the dugout for medical assistance and left the game.

In the seventh, Arcia led off with his 12th homer, increasing the lead to 2-0.

Lorenzo Cain's first error of the season helped the Pirates in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, he dropped Elias Diaz's pop to shallow center. Melky Cabrera drew a four-pitch walk, and Adam Frazier drove the ball up the middle for a single to bring in Diaz and make it 2-1.

In the eighth, Keston Hiura drew a leadoff walk from Dovydas Neverauskas ahead of Aguilar's sixth home run of the season for a 4-1 lead. After Tyler Saladino singled, Pina launched his fourth homer to make it 6-1.
