Miguel Andujar hit his first career grand slam, Aaron Hicks added a three-run shot, CC Sabathia pitched seven strong innings and the visiting New York Yankees defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 7-2 Tuesday night.
Sabathia (3-1) allowed two runs, three hits and one walk while striking out six for his first win since April 29, a span of five winless starts.
The Yankees are 4-1 on their nine-game road trip after winning the opener of the two-game series.
Blue Jays starter Marco Estrada allowed one run and six hits while striking out six in six-plus innings. He did not factor in the decision.
The loss went to reliever Seunghwan Oh (1-2), who allowed Andujar's slam and was charged with three of the runs.
Teoscar Hernandez and Kevin Pillar homered for the Blue Jays, who were playing their first game at home after a 3-6 road trip.
The Yankees could not take advantage of a one-out double by Giancarlo Stanton in the first or a leadoff double by Greg Bird in the fourth.
Brett Gardner led off the sixth for the Yankees with a single but was caught stealing to blunt a possible threat.
Yangervis Solarte singled with one out in the first for the Blue Jays, who did not have another baserunner until Justin Smoak walked with one out in the fourth.
They were the only Blue Jays to reach base until Hernandez hit his ninth homer of the season to left with one out in the sixth.
Andujar's seventh-inning blast gave the Yankees a 4-1 lead.
Gary Sanchez led off with a single, ending Estrada's night. Oh came and hit Didi Gregorius with a pitch and walked Hicks before surrendering Andujar's seventh homer of the season.
Pillar hit his fifth homer of the season with one out in the bottom of the seventh.
The Yankees added three in the eighth on the sixth homer of the season by Hicks.
Giancarlo Stanton led off the inning with a single against reliever Joe Biagini, who retired the next two batters before being replaced by Aaron Loup. Loup walked Gregorius and gave up the homer to Hicks.
David Robertson pitched a perfect eighth for New York, and Chasen Shreve also was perfect in the ninth.
