Emmanuel Rivera homered, singled and finished with three RBIs as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 in Denver on Friday night.

Ramon Urias and Eloy Jimenez had two hits each to back a strong outing by starter Albert Suarez.

Suarez (7-4) scattered eight hits and allowed two runs in seven innings. Seranthony Dominguez got the final three outs for his eighth save for Baltimore, which snapped a two-game skid.

Brendan Rodgers homered among his two hits and Ryan McMahon also contributed two hits for the Rockies, who have dropped two straight and three of their last four.

The Orioles took an early lead when Colton Cowers doubled with one out in the second and scored on Rivera's single. It stayed that way until the third when Colorado got some help from a fan.

After Jordan Beck singled, stole second and went to third on a groundout, Ezequiel Tovar and Suarez battled for 10 pitches. The at-bat was extended when a young fan reached out and caught Tovar's foul ball above the glove of right fielder Anthony Santander.

Baltimore unsuccessfully challenged for fan interference and Tovar hit an RBI single to center. McMahon and Brenton Doyle followed with singles to put the Rockies ahead 2-1.

The Orioles answered in the fourth but squandered a chance for more. Jimenez led off with a single but was thrown out at third on Urias' single. One out later Rivera homered to center to put Baltimore back in front 3-2.

It was his second of the season.

The Orioles ran out of another rally in the fifth. Jackson Holliday led off with a walk, stole second but was thrown out at third by Doyle, who made a diving catch on Austin Slater's sinking liner before firing to third.

Colorado starter Austin Gomber (4-10) allowed three runs on eight hits in six innings. He fanned four and walked one.

Baltimore added insurance runs in the ninth on an RBI triple by Holliday, who then scored on Cedric Mullins' fielder's choice.

Rodgers hit a solo homer, his 13th, in the ninth and Jake Cave singled before Dominguez closed it out.
