Jake Cronenworth drove in four runs and Ha-Seong Kim hit a three-run homer as the San Diego Padres pummeled the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks 13-1 on Saturday night.

San Diego, which scored at least 10 runs for the second straight game, tallied 14 hits and scored four runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings on Saturday. David Peralta went 3-for-3 and reached base five times, while Fernando Tatis Jr. doubled to extend his hitting streak to 14 games, tying his career high.

Padres starter Matt Waldron (4-5), who retired the first 12 batters he faced, lasted six innings, giving up one run on three hits to go along with two walks and four strikeouts.

Arizona starter Ryne Nelson (3-5) allowed six hits and six runs (five earned) in 3 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out one. With their bullpen taxed by a recent run of abbreviated starts, the Diamondbacks used outfielder Pavin Smith to pitch the eighth inning. He walked one and gave up no runs and no hits.

The Padres got the only runs they needed in the second inning. Arizona first baseman Christian Walker committed a throwing error on Jackson Merrill's potential double-play ball, scoring Donovan Solano to give San Diego a 1-0 lead.

Kim made it 4-0 moments later, lacing a fastball into the seats in left-center for his ninth homer of the year and second in as many games.

San Diego blew the game open in the fourth with another four-run outburst. After Tatis doubled and Jurickson Profar walked with one out to knock Nelson out of the contest, Cronenworth greeted reliever Logan Allen with a towering three-run homer to center. Merrill doubled home Peralta to give the Padres an 8-0 advantage.

The Diamondbacks got on the board in the fifth via Eugenio Suarez's RBI single to left, but the Padres rattled off four more runs in their half of the inning. Cronenworth singled in a run, Solano hit a sacrifice fly and Peralta doubled home two more runs to make it 12-1.

Kyle Higashioka closed the scoring in the sixth with a solo homer, his fourth home run of the year.
