Baltimore starting pitcher Kyle Bradish delivered a sterling outing and teammates Ryan O'Hearn and Gunnar Henderson homered as the Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-0 on Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Bradish allowed just one hit while striking out nine without a walk in six innings.
Danny Coulombe worked two innings and Cionel Perez pitched the ninth to complete the combined two-hitter that included 14 strikeouts.
The hit allowed by Bradish was an infield single to Yandy Diaz to lead off the bottom of the first. Bradish then retired the remaining 18 batters he faced. Diaz added a ninth-inning single.
Bradish (2-0), who threw seven no-hit innings May 26 before he was replaced against the Chicago White Sox, became more dominant by the middle innings, striking out the side in the fifth. It was a stark contrast to his outing a week earlier at home against the Rays, who tagged him for seven hits and five runs in 2 2/3 innings.
Tampa Bay didn't hit a ball out of the infield until Brandon Lowe's flyout to left field in the seventh.
O'Hearn, the only Oriole with more than one hit, scored two runs, coming home on Jordan Westburg's two-out triple in the eighth inning. Henderson's three-run shot came in the ninth for his 20th long ball of the season.
Rays starter Taj Bradley (1-4) worked five innings, giving up just one run on three hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.
O'Hearn led off the fourth with his ninth home run of the season on the seventh pitch of the at-bat from Bradley.
The Orioles threatened in the seventh against reliever Colin Poche, who was summoned from a rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham and arrived in St. Petersburg earlier Saturday. Poche got Adley Rutschman to pop out to the catcher with runners on first and second to end the inning. Baltimore scored one off Jason Adam in the eighth and three off Phil Maton in the ninth.
