Willy Adames belted a solo homer and four relievers produced scoreless efforts as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers recorded a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday afternoon.
The Brewers won two of three games in the weekend series and concluded the season with a 3-3 mark against Atlanta. Milwaukee was 5-1 on the road trip and have won nine of its last 10 games away from home.
It was the 17th consecutive game in which the Braves have alternated wins and losses.
Milwaukee starter Brett Anderson (4-5) pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed one run on three hits, one walk and three strikeouts. It was Anderson's first career victory over Atlanta in four appearances.
John Curtiss, Brad Boxberger, Devin Williams and Josh Hader finished the game. Hader earned his 22nd save after striking out two batters in the ninth inning.
Atlanta starter Charlie Morton (10-4) saw his five-game winning streak end. He worked six innings and allowed two runs on three hits and six strikeouts in his first appearance against Milwaukee since 2016.
Atlanta relievers Chris Martin, Luke Jackson and Richard Rodriguez each followed with a hitless inning.
Adames got the Brewers on the board with a solo home run in the first inning. It was his 18th homer of the season.
Milwaukee tacked on a run in the fifth when Lorenzo Cain scored on an infield grounder by Jackie Bradley Jr.
The Braves cut the lead to 2-1 in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Austin Riley. They were unable to tie the game, however, as Bradley ran down Dansby Swanson's hard liner with an over-the-shoulder catch in right field.
Atlanta threatened in the seventh with runners on first and second with two outs, however Boxberger induced Ozzie Albies to bounce out to first base to end the inning.
The Braves had two runners on in the eighth inning, but Williams struck out the side to end the threat. Williams has allowed only one earned run over his last 16 innings.
The Braves were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
