Adam Moore homered for the Rays (88-72), and Mallex Smith had three hits.

Toronto lefty starter Thomas Pannone allowed five runs, seven hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. Tim Mayza (2-0) pitched one-third of an inning to get the win. Ken Giles pitched around a single in the ninth and struck out two to earn his 26th save in 26 opportunities this season.

Rays starter Tyler Glasnow struck out nine in 5 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, seven hits and three walks.

Smith led off Tampa Bay's three-run first with a triple. Tommy Pham walked, and Joey Wendle hit an RBI double. C.J. Cron hit a sacrifice fly and Willy Adames added a two-out RBI single.

Hernandez led off the second with his 21st homer of the season.

The Rays scored once in the fifth. Smith hit an infield single, stole second and continued to third on shortstop Urena's missed catch. Pham hit a sacrifice fly.

Tellez led off the sixth with his fourth homer of the season. Glasnow allowed a one-out single to Reese McGuire and a walk to Dwight Smith Jr. before he was replaced by Adam Kolarek.

McGuire was cut down trying to advance to third when the ball bounced away from catcher Moore. Urena singled and Jon Berti hit a two-run double, tying the game.

The Rays regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Adames walked, Austin Meadows singled, and Jake Petricka replaced Pannone. Adames scored from third on Moore's bunt single on a safety squeeze.

Kevin Pillar doubled to lead off the seventh against Chaz Roe, who was replaced by Jose Alvarado (1-6) with one out. Second baseman Brandon Lowe's error on a grounder by Tellez and a walk by Hernandez loaded the bases. Grichuk, hitting for McGuire, tripled and Toronto led 7-5.

Joe Biagini pitched one-third of an inning, allowing a walk and a single in the bottom of the seventh.

Jose Fernandez finished the seventh but allowed Moore's first homer of the season and Mallex Smith's double to start the bottom of the eighth. Ryan Tepera ended the inning with two strikeouts and a fly out.
