NEW YORK -- Catcher Wilson Ramos had the go-ahead RBI groundout in the fourth inning and added an RBI single in the sixth Thursday night as the Washington Nationals became the first visiting team to win this season at Citi Field with an 8-2 victory over the New York Mets.

First baseman Ryan Zimmerman also had two RBI -- via a fourth-inning sacrifice fly and a sixth-inning infield single -- and right fielder Bryce Harper hit a three-run double in the ninth for the Nationals (10-13), who came back from an early two-run deficit to win their third straight. Washington has scored 34 runs in the three victories.

The Mets (15-8) have lost five of seven since a 10-0 homestand from April 13 to April 23.

Third baseman Yunel Escobar had three hits for the Nationals.

Right-hander Stephen Strasburg (2-2) evened his record after allowing two runs, six hits and one walk while striking out seven in 5 1/3 innings.

Catcher Kevin Plawecki and right fielder Curtis Granderson had RBI hits for the Mets in the second and first baseman Lucas Duda finished 2-for-3.

Right-hander Jacob deGrom (2-3) suffered his second straight loss after allowing five runs (three earned), five hits and two walks while striking out four in 5 1/3 innings.

The Mets took a 2-0 lead in the second. Shortstop Wilmer Flores doubled and scored five pitches later on Plawecki's double. Plawecki came home on Granderson's two-out single to right.

DeGrom set down the first nine batters he faced before the Nationals scored three runs -- only one earned -- off just one hit in the fourth. After center fielder Denard Span drew a leadoff walk, Flores booted a potential double-play ball by third baseman Yunel Escobar. Span scored on an RBI single by left fielder Jayson Werth.

Harper walked to reload the bases before Zimmerman lofted a sacrifice fly to deep center to bring home Escobar. Ramos grounded out to shortstop to score Werth.

NOTES: The Mets placed RHP Rafael Montero on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation. Montero was initially optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, but the option was rescinded. ... Nationals INF Anthony Rendon (side, knee) and RHP Casey Janssen (right shoulder tendinitis) inched closer to returning. Rendon participated in all baseball activities, and he may resume a rehab stint with Double-A Harrisburg on Friday. Janssen threw an inning in an extended spring training game. ... The second game of the series Friday night will pit Mets RHP Matt Harvey against Nationals RHP Max Scherzer, who opposed each other as the starters in the 2013 All-Star Game and again on Aug. 24, 2013, two days before Harvey was diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow that eventually required Tommy John surgery.
