Braves 5, Phillies 1 (2nd): Tommy La Stella doubled twice and drove in two runs, supporting David Hale’s five strong innings as visiting Atlanta capped a doubleheader sweep.

Chris Johnson went 3-for-4, Ryan Doumit homered and scored twice, and La Stella - who snapped a 0-for-21 skid with a three-run triple in the first game - doubled home two runs in the sixth as the Braves won their third in a row in the four-game series. Hale (3-2) allowed one run on four hits in five innings, and three relievers combined to throw four shutout innings.

Philadelphia starter Sean O’Sullivan (0-1) gave up four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings in his season debut. Cameron Rupp finished 2-for-4 with a run scored, but the Phillies lost for the seventh time in nine games.

Jordan Schafer led off the Atlanta first with an infield single and later scored on Justin Upton’s RBI single to right, but the Phillies evened the score in the third on Jimmy Rollins’ sacrifice fly to right, plating Rupp. Upton singled with two out and nobody on in the sixth ,and scored on Johnson’s single to right as the Braves moved ahead 2-1.

Mario Hollands came on in relief of O'Sullivan and La Stella greeted him by doubling to left on a 3-2 pitch, scoring Doumit and Johnson to push the advantage to 4-1. Doumit hit his third homer of the season off B.J. Rosenberg leading off the eighth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta C Christian Bethancourt, promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett between games of the doubleheader, started and collected his first career hit on a sixth-inning single in his second major-league game. … The Braves swept a doubleheader from Philadelphia for the first time since Aug. 13, 1996. … Philadelphia dropped to 1-5 at home against the Braves this season.
