Mets 5, Padres 4: Travis d'Arnaud went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI singles, including one in the ninth inning that snapped a tie as visiting New York extended its winning streak to four games.

Juan Lagares drove in two runs and Curtis Granderson notched two hits and scored twice for the Mets, who have won nine of their last 11 contests. Jeurys Familia (2-3) worked a perfect eighth inning and Jenrry Mejia tossed a scoreless ninth for his 11th save.

Chase Headley recorded a two-run single while Alexi Amarista went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Padres, who ended a 25-inning scoreless streak with a four-run fifth. Chris Nelson collected two hits and plated a run in his debut for San Diego.

New York jumped out to an early 3-0 lead as d'Arnaud recorded an RBI single in the first inning and Lagares delivered a two-run base hit two batters later. The Mets increased the advantage in the third as Lucas Duda led off with a double and advanced on d'Arnaud's single before scoring on a groundout by Kirk Nieuwenhuis.

San Diego battled back in the fifth, when Nelson and Amarista hit back-to-back RBI singles and scored on Headley's two-out base hit. But New York regained the lead in the ninth as Granderson drew a leadoff walk from Joaquin Benoit (3-2) and moved to third on a pair of groundouts before coming home on d'Arnaud's single through the left side of the infield.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Padres traded All-Star RHP Huston Street and a minor-leaguer to the Los Angeles Angels for four prospects Friday night. ... One day after having INF Irving Falu claimed off waivers by Milwaukee, San Diego purchased the contract of Nelson from Triple-A El Paso on Friday. ... Mets RHP Bartolo Colon's possible audition with the trade deadline approaching did not go well as the portly veteran allowed four runs over five innings.
