Brewers 5, Mets 1 (13): Jonathan Lucroy ignited a four-run rally in the 13th inning with a two-run homer as visiting Milwaukee outlasted New York in a game that featured outstanding starting pitching, blown opportunities by both teams and a rain delay in the 11th that lasted three minutes.

After the Mets squandered a prime chance in the 11th and the Brewers did the same in the 12th, Ryan Braun led off the 13th with a single and Lucroy followed with a blast to left field off Carlos Torres (2-4) that snapped a 1-1 tie. Mark Reynolds added an RBI single and Rickie Weeks was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cap the uprising as Milwaukee took the rubber match of the three-game series.

Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run for the Brewers, who completed a 5-3 road trip and became the second National League team to reach 40 wins. Zach Duke (4-0) tossed a perfect 12th inning and Francisco Rodriguez retired his former team in order to seal the victory.

Bobby Abreu drove in the lone run and hit one of the six singles by the Mets, who have lost eight of their last nine contests. New York has scored fewer than five runs in each of the defeats.

The Brewers took an early lead on Ramirez's seventh homer of the season, a one-out solo blast to left-center field in the second inning that snapped his six-game drought. New York evened things in the fourth as Daniel Murphy led off with a single and went to third on Milwaukee center fielder Carlos Gomez's error before scoring on Abreu's sacrifice fly.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Gomez singled in the eighth inning to extend his hitting streak to 10 games and his run of reaching safely to 27 straight contests. ... New York RHP Jenrry Mejia recorded the final two outs of the 10th inning but experienced back stiffness while warming up before the 11th and exited the contest. ... Both starting pitchers were superb, as Milwaukee RHP Kyle Lohse allowed an unearned run and four hits in eight innings while Mets LHP Jonathon Niese yielded a run and six hits with eight strikeouts over 7 2/3 frames.
