Mariners 3, Angels 2 (12): Logan Morrison and Justin Smoak each drove in runs in the 12th inning as visiting Seattle snapped Los Angeles’ six-game winning streak.

Kyle Seager belted a leadoff double and Morrison followed with a run-scoring double off Joe Thatcher (1-1) before Smoak added an insurance run with a bases-loaded infield single off Mike Morin. Dominic Leone (3-2) allowed David Freese's leadoff homer in the 12th before Charlie Furbush earned his first career save for Seattle, which bounced back from a 3-2, 16-inning loss in Friday’s series opener.

The much-anticipated pitchers’ duel between Seattle’s Felix Hernandez and the Angels’ Garrett Richards lived up to expectations, with the duo allowing a total of five hits over 15 innings. Hernandez yielded one unearned run while striking out nine and walking four in 114 pitches over seven frames.

Seattle got on the board in the sixth as Dustin Ackley began the inning with a double and later scored on Jesus Sucre’s one-out single off Richards, who allowed one run on three hits over eight innings. Richards struck out seven and issued one walk to remain unbeaten over his last nine starts.

Los Angeles pulled even in the seventh as Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton drew back-to-back walks and Pujols scored on a throwing error by shortstop Brad Miller. That was the only damage allowed by Hernandez, who has pitched at least seven innings and allowed two or fewer runs in 12 consecutive starts.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Angels optioned DH C.J. Cron to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room for closer Huston Street, who was acquired in a trade from San Diego on Friday. Street tossed a scoreless ninth inning Saturday in his Angels debut … Seattle 2B Robinson Cano went 0-for-5, snapping his eight-game hitting streak. … Los Angeles SS Erick Aybar missed the game due to a sore right groin and is listed as day-to-day.
