Angels 5, Athletics 4 (12): Chris Iannetta slugged a walk-off home run with two outs in the bottom of the 12th inning as host Los Angeles avoided a three-game sweep.

Iannetta hit the first pitch he saw from Drew Pomeranz (1-1) over the center-field wall and off the outstretched glove of Craig Gentry as the Angels finished a 3-3 homestand that included four extra-inning affairs. Mike Trout had an RBI double and scored the game-tying run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth and Albert Pujols recorded three hits and an RBI for Los Angeles.

Brandon Moss cranked a three-run homer off Angels starter Tyler Skaggs in the fourth, but Oakland was kept off the board the rest of the way in seeing its four-game winning streak come to an end. Starter Tommy Milone allowed two earned runs in six innings and three relievers bridged the gap to closer Luke Gregerson, who blew the save in the ninth.

Trout singled to left with one out in the ninth and Pujols followed with a base hit up the middle to put runners at the corners before Howie Kendrick pushed across the tying run with a grounder to third. Oakland left a runner in scoring position in the 10th, 11th and 12th innings, with Joe Smith (1-0) working the final frame to cap six scoreless innings by the Los Angeles bullpen.

Erick Aybar led off the third with a base hit and came all the way around on Trout's double to left but Moss capped a four-run rally in the next inning to make it 4-1. The Angels picked up a run on an error in the seventh before Pujols knocked in Aybar with a single to center to cut the deficit to 4-3.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Angels placed OF Kole Calhoun (ankle) on the 15-day disabled list and selected the contract of OF Brennan Boesch from Triple-A Salt Lake. ... The teams combined to go 4-for-28 with runners in scoring position and left 21 men on base. ... Skaggs was charged with four runs and seven hits in six innings.
