Josh Hamilton hit a three-run homer - his first of the season - and went 3-for-3 as visiting Los Angeles crushed Houston for its first victory.

Mike Trout homered among his two hits and drove in two runs while Kole Calhoun delivered a two-run shot for the Angels, who recorded 15 hits after they were outscored 26-8 in a three-game sweep by Seattle to start the season. Garrett Richards (1-0) allowed one run, three hits, walked five and struck out seven in five innings.

Jose Altuve had two of the Astros' seven hits and walked with the bases loaded as Houston fell to 2-2 after taking two of three from the New York Yankees. Lucas Harrell (0-1) yielded five runs and seven hits in three innings while former Angel Jerome Williams was touched for six runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 frames.

Trout drilled a 1-0 pitch into the Crawford Boxes in left in the first and walked on four pitches with the bases loaded in the second to make it 2-0. After Howie Kendrick and Chris Iannetta delivered back-to-back RBI doubles, Erick Aybar followed with a sacrifice fly to cap a three-run third and give Los Angeles a 5-0 lead.

Hamilton stretched the Angels' lead to 8-1 in the sixth when he connected off Williams after Albert Pujols extended the inning by reaching on an infield hit. Los Angeles tacked on three more in the seventh on Calhoun's home run and an RBI single by Aybar.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Astros CF Dexter Fowler, who went 6-for-12 with a home run and five runs scored against the Yankees, did not come to the ballpark because of a stomach bug. ... Houston C Jason Castro, who left Thursday's game after being hit by a pitch in the right ankle, did not play and remains day-to-day. ... Trout, who also threw out Marc Krauss at the plate in the second inning, is 6-for-14 with two home runs, a triple, a double, two walks and five RBIs in his first four games.
