Dodgers 6, Reds 3:
Andre Ethier homered and ripped a three-run triple to back another strong start by Zack Greinke as host Los Angeles topped Cincinnati for the second straight night.

Greinke (8-1) allowed three runs in 7 2/3 innings while matching a season high with 11 strikeouts against zero walks to improve to 4-0 at home. Hanley Ramirez and Chone Figgins each had RBI singles for the Dodgers, who tied a season high with their third straight win.

Reds starter Alfredo Simon (6-3) was reached for five runs on five hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings while losing for the first time in six road decisions. Devin Mesoraco hit a two-run homer to chase Greinke in the eighth and Roger Bernadina delivered a run-scoring single in the fifth as Cincinnati dropped its fourth in a row for the first time this year.

Ethier hit the first pitch he saw from Simon in the bottom of the second over the wall in right-center for his first home run since April 19. Following two singles and a walk in the fourth, Ethier lined a shot into the corner in right to clear the bases and make it 4-0.

Greinke retired the side in order in the first, third and sixth innings and struck out Bernadina with runners on the corners to end the seventh to preserve a 5-1 advantage. Mesoraco slugged a 3-2 offering from Greinke out to left to make it 6-3 in the eighth, but J.P. Howell came on to get the final out of the frame and Kenley Jansen cruised through the ninth for his 16th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dodgers LF Carl Crawford left in the top of the eighth after turning his left ankle chasing down a double by Chris Heisey. ... Greinke saw his streak of allowing two earned runs or fewer end after 22 straight starts, the longest such streak since at least 1914. ... Cincinnati has lost five straight games at Dodger Stadium and is 7-20 in Los Angeles since 2006.
