Rockies 8, White Sox 1: Jordan Lyles allowed one run over 6 2/3 innings and contributed a career-high three hits and two RBIs as Colorado routed visiting Chicago in the opener of a three-game series.

Lyles (2-0) yielded five hits and two walks while striking out four for the Rockies, who scored once in each of the first three innings and won for the third time in the last four games. Troy Tulowitzki went 3-for-3 with a solo homer, extending his hitting streak to six games.

Carlos Gonzalez put the Rockies on the board with a two-out solo blast in the first off Felipe Paulino (0-1), who allowed six runs on nine hits and four walks over 4 1/3 innings. Lyles doubled in a run in the second frame for his first hit since Sept. 30, 2012 and added an RBI single during the Rockies’ three-run fifth.

Tulowitzki sparked the Rockies’ fifth-inning rally with a leadoff double, Wilin Rosario walked with one out and Nolan Arenado singled before DJ LeMahieu followed with an RBI base hit. Daniel Webb replaced Paulino and yielded Lyles’ run-scoring single and Charlie Blackmon’s sacrifice fly as Colorado increased the lead to 6-0.

The White Sox, who have lost four of their last five, scored with two outs in the seventh when Conor Gillaspie hit a leadoff single and came around to score on Alexei Ramirez’s double to the left field. Ramirez went 1-for-3 and is batting .440 (11-for-25) during his season-opening seven-game hitting streak.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Colorado optioned OF Corey Dickerson to Triple-A Colorado Springs and activated LHP Boone Logan from the disabled list. … Blackmon, who went hitless in four at-bats, was named the National League Co-Player of the Week along with Miami RHP Jose Fernandez after hitting .542 over his first seven games. … White Sox 1B Jose Abreu went 0-for-4 and is 1-for-15 over his last four games.
