Dodgers 9, Diamondbacks 5: Roberto Hernandez pitched six strong innings and visiting Los Angeles prevailed after scoring six runs in the fourth.

Hernandez (8-9) improved to 2-1 with a 3.52 ERA in four starts with the Dodgers after allowing three runs and six hits as Los Angeles maintained its five-game lead over San Francisco in the National League West. Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer, Justin Turner also drove in a pair and Dee Gordon had three hits and an RBI.

Ender Inciarte registered three RBIs for Arizona, which fell to an NL-worst 27-41 as the home team and 27-39 at Chase Field. Trevor Cahill (3-9) had a four-start unbeaten streak snapped after yielding eight runs (six earned) in 3 1/3 innings to fall to 0-3 with a 9.98 ERA in five games (three starts) against the Dodgers in 2014.

Kemp blasted an 0-1 pitch out to left with two out in the first for his 16th home run before Inciarte evened the score with a two-out two-run single in the second. Los Angeles, which had 14 hits (13 singles), extended its lead to 8-2 in the fourth - highlighted by five consecutive singles and an overturned call on a play at the plate.

A.J. Ellis' single to center - the third straight RBI hit of the frame - scored Carl Crawford, who was originally called out before replays revealed Miguel Montero tagged him with his glove while holding the ball in his bare hand. Adrian Gonzalez led off the inning with a walk and scored, and completed the uprising with a sacrifice fly.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Crawford recorded two hits and an RBI and is 9-for-21 in his last seven games. ... Gonzalez, who leads active players with 93 RBIs against Arizona, is hitting .397 with 18 RBIs and nine runs scored in 63 at-bats since Aug. 7. ... Los Angeles, which won for the fifth time in its last seven games, improved to 11-4 against Arizona in 2014, including 7-2 as the road team - 5-2 at Chase Field and 2-0 in Australia.
