Blue Jays 8, Rays 7: J.P. Arencibia's two-run homer in the ninth inning propelled Toronto to a stunning come-from-behind win over host Tampa Bay.

Arencibia, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the sixth, drilled a fastball from Rays closer Fernando Rodney (1-1) into the left-field seats for his ninth of the season. It capped a rally from a 7-0 deficit and made a winner out of Darren Oliver (1-1), who allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless eighth.

Colby Rasmus and Mark DeRosa each added two-run homers while Casey Janssen preserved the victory with his eighth save. Toronto won for just the fifth time in 17 games while registering back-to-back wins for the first time since April 12-13.

The Rays did all their scoring in the third, sending 10 men to the plate. Already leading 1-0, Evan Longoria launched a grand slam to left field off Toronto starter Mark Buehrle and Luke Scott capped the onslaught with a two-run shot down the right-field line.

Rasmus' two-run shot off Jeremy Hellickson kickstarted the uprising in the fourth, and DeRosa's pinch-hit homer to right in the sixth made it 7-5. Toronto put runners on second and third in the seventh and eighth innings but managed only Jose Bautista's RBI sacrifice fly.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: Hellickson allowed three runs on six hits over five innings while Buehrle was tagged for seven runs on nine hits over six frames.
