Athletics 5, Blue Jays 1: Alberto Callaspo atoned for a costly error with a tiebreaking two-run double in the ninth inning as visiting Oakland rallied to take three of four in Toronto.

The Athletics carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth, but Callaspo had a Jose Bautista grounder go off his glove with a runner on third to allow the tying run to score. Josh Donaldson led off the ninth with a base hit and pinch hitter Brandon Moss doubled before Callaspo - who had the go-ahead two-run double in Sunday's win - lined a shot into the corner in right off Casey Janssen (4-1).

Stephen Vogt followed with an RBI single and Eric Sogard had a sacrifice fly to cap the four-run ninth and help secure a win for Ryan Cook (5-2), who got the last two outs of the eighth in relief of Dan Straily. Oakland's starter yielded an unearned run and six hits in a career-high 7 1/3 innings as the Athletics remained one game behind first-place Texas in the American League West.

Chris Young slugged a leadoff home run against Blue Jays starter J.A. Happ to give the Athletics a 1-0 lead. Oakland produced only two more hits against Happ, who retired 14 in a row at one point and struck out six in seven innings, his longest start of the season and his second since suffering a skull fracture and sprained knee when he was hit by a line drive in Tampa Bay on May 7.

All seven Toronto hits were singles as the last-place club fell to 6-14 in its last 20 home games.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Oakland CF Coco Crisp sat with a sore left wrist and C Derek Norris was unavailable due to back spasms. ... Former Athletics IF Adam Rosales was claimed off waivers by the Texas Rangers for the second time this month. ... Oakland returns home Tuesday to host Houston. Toronto stays at home to play Boston.
