Blue Jays 6, Yankees 2: Todd Redmond tossed seven strong innings and Adam Lind hit a three-run homer as Toronto put a dent in visiting New York's fading playoff chances.

Redmond (4-2) limited the Yankees to a run on four hits while fanning seven to improve to 3-0 in eight home appearances. Three relievers bridged the gap to Casey Janssen, who recorded the final two outs to secure his 32nd save in 34 chances.

Yankees right-hander Hiroki Kuroda (11-12) continued his late-season swoon, allowing three runs on eight hits and four walks over six frames to fall to 0-5 over his last seven starts. The loss dropped New York 3 1/2 games behind co-leaders Texas and Tampa Bay in the American League wild-card race.

Toronto opened the scoring in the third, as Anthony Gose reached on a single to left field and scored on Jose Reyes' double to the gap in left-center. Brett Lawrie grounded out to third to bring home Reyes, and Toronto loaded the bases later in the frame before Kuroda struck out Ryan Goins swinging to avoid further damage.

Curtis Granderson halved the deficit with a solo blast over the right-field wall in the sixth, but Gose restored the Blue Jays' two-run advantage in the bottom half with a drive into the Yankees' bullpen. Lind put away the game an inning later against reliever Joba Chamberlain, golfing a pitch into the second deck in right for his third home run in five games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Jays held a pregame tribute to Yankees RHP Mariano Rivera, who is retiring at season's end. Rivera finishes his career with an 8-2 record, a 1.81 ERA and 54 saves in 94 appearances against Toronto. ... New York won the season series 14-5. ... Toronto kicks off a three-game series in Boston on Friday, while the Yankees entertain the San Francisco Giants for a weekend interleague set.
