Angels 7, Royals 0: Hank Conger and Josh Hamilton homered while Billy Buckner won in his first major-league start since 2010 as visiting Los Angeles won its seventh straight game.

Albert Pujols added an RBI groundout in support of Butler (1-0), who allowed two hits and three walks over five innings against the team that selected him in the second round of the 2004 draft. Four pitchers each tossed a scoreless inning in relief to complete the Angels’ fourth shutout.

Jeremy Guthrie (5-3) had a no-hitter through five innings before being charged with seven runs (six earned) over 7 1/3 innings. The right-hander allowed only two hits through seven – Conger’s solo shot two pitches into the sixth and Hamilton’s opposite-field blast one inning later – before running into trouble in the eighth.

Los Angeles blew it open in the eighth when Mike Trout’s infield single scored Conger and Guthrie hit Pujols with a pitch to end his outing. Louis Coleman came on in relief, but surrendered a two-run single to Mark Trumbo and an RBI single to Howard Kendrick.

Trout opened the scoring in the fourth when he drew a one-out walk, stole second and advanced to third on catcher George Kottaras’ throwing error. Pujols followed with his 60th RBI in 65 career games against Kansas City five pitches later.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kansas City 2B Chris Getz was ejected in the sixth by first base umpire Marty Foster for arguing a call on his double-play grounder to end the fifth. Foster was the second base umpire in Los Angeles’ 5-2 victory Friday in which Getz appeared to clearly tag out Trout on a steal attempt – a play that opened the door for the go-ahead run and the Angels’ three-run seventh inning. … Los Angeles has outhomered Kansas City 58-28 this season. … Guthrie has surrendered 15 home runs in 2013, including eight over his last three outings.
