Astros 2, Angels 0: Chris Carter belted a two-run homer and Bud Norris outdueled Jerome Williams as visiting Houston extended its winning streak to a season-high four games.
Norris (5-4) limited Los Angeles to four hits over six innings, two of which were doubles by Mike Trout. The right-hander walked two and struck out three and improved to 3-0 against the Angels this season.
After six scoreless frames, the Astros finally broke through in the seventh. J.D. Martinez delivered a one-out single - Houston's second hit of the night - and Carter launched his 11th homer two batters later for a 2-0 lead.
Jose Cisnero worked two innings for Houston and Jose Veras allowed two baserunners in the ninth before securing his 10th save in 13 opportunities.
Williams (4-2) was the hard-luck loser after yielding two runs and three hits over seven innings. Erick Aybar also recorded two hits for the Angels, who have lost four of six following an eight-game winning streak.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Houston improved to 4-0 on its six-game road trip. It has won four straight away from home for the first time since a five-game run from May 22-June 2, 2011. ... Norris has allowed a total of two runs in 19 innings over his last three starts. He also has given up just one run in 21 innings against the Angels this season. ...
