Tigers 11, Mets 3: Miguel Cabrera and Andy Dirks belted two-run homers to power visiting Detroit to a three-game sweep of New York.

Rick Porcello (10-7) worked seven strong innings, giving up three runs on four hits to earn his sixth win in seven decisions. Ramon Santiago and Cabrera finished with three hits apiece and the first-place Tigers amassed 18 hits to remain six games ahead of Cleveland in the American League Central.

Rookie Travis d'Arnaud smacked his first career homer, a two-run shot in the fourth that briefly put the Mets ahead by a run. Right-hander Dillon Gee (9-9) lasted six innings and allowed four runs on a season high-tying 10 hits to absorb his first loss in his last seven home starts.

Cabrera, who finished the series 7-for-13 with a pair of homers, launched a towering first-inning shot off Gee into the second deck in left field for his 42nd of the year. The Mets inched ahead on Daniel Murphy's run-scoring single in the third and D'Arnaud's shot in the fourth.

Detroit regained the lead in the sixth inning on Dirks' eighth homer, a line drive over the wall in right. The Tigers blew it open with a seven-run ninth, getting RBI singles from Victor Martinez. Omar Infante, Santiago and Matt Tuiasosopo and a bases-loaded walk by Dirks.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cabrera extended his on-base streak to 28 games and boosted his major league-leading batting average to .360. He last failed to reach base in the first game coming out of the All-Star break. ... D'Arnaud, who entered the game 1-for-15 in his career, also collected his first RBIs in his seventh major-league game. ... CF Austin Jackson had his sixth multiple-hit contest in a seven-game hitting streak for the Tigers, who will open a seven-game homestand on Monday with a four-game series versus Oakland.
