Reds 13, Mariners 4: Mat Latos struck out 11 in six innings and slammed a two-run double to help host Cincinnati beat Seattle and even the three-game series at one win apiece.

Jay Bruce scored four times and drove in three runs and Cesar Izturis also had three RBIs as the Reds improved to 30-15 at home. Kyle Seager had a homer and three RBIs for the Mariners.

Latos (8-2) allowed four runs and six hits in six innings. He came up with two on and two outs in the fourth and laced a double into the right-center field gap off Jeremy Bonderman (1-3) to tie the score. Shin-Soo Choo followed with an RBI single to give Cincinnati a 4-3 lead.

Izturis added a two-run double in the fifth to give the Reds a three-run lead. Brendan Ryan doubled home a run in the sixth for Seattle but Cincinnati struck three times in the bottom of the inning on Bruce’s two-run double and Jack Hannahan’s RBI single and added four more runs in the eighth.

Bonderman was touched up for six runs and seven hits in five innings. He walked five and struck out four.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The victory was only Cincinnati’s second in 11 all-time games with Seattle. … Mariners 2B Nick Franklin was held out of the starting lineup after fouling a pitch off his knee Friday. Franklin struck out as a pinch hitter. … Reds OF Xavier Paul didn’t play due to elbow and shoulder soreness after colliding with a wall in foul territory on Friday.
