Indians 6, Rangers 0:
Ubaldo Jimenez pitched eight sizzling innings and Mike Aviles belted a two-run homer as host Cleveland shut out struggling Texas for the second straight game to completed a sweep.

Jimenez (8-5) struck out six and allowed only two hits to defeat the Rangers for the second time this season. Texas starter Alexi Ogando (4-3), who was making his second start since coming off the disabled list, matched Jimenez for four innings before the Indians chased him in the fifth.

Nick Swisher and Yan Gomes each had three hits and Michael Bourn drove in two runs for the Indians, who swept a three-game series from the Rangers in Cleveland for the first time since 1980.

Jason Kipnis snapped a scoreless tie when his line drive to right dropped in front of Nelson Cruz to score Bourn. The Indians broke it open with three in the sixth on Gomes' RBI single and Bourn's two-run double.

Elvis Andrus and A.J. Pierzynski had the only hits for Texas, which has dropped 12 of its last 15 and has not gained ground on American League West leader Oakland since surrendering the top spot on July 2.
