Diamondbacks 5, Mets 4 (15): Cliff Pennington ripped a two-out RBI single in the 15th inning as visiting Arizona overcame a pair of extra-inning homers to salvage a split of the four-game series.

Gerardo Parra had a two-out single in the 15th inning and advanced to third on Wil Nieves' fourth hit of the game. Pennington deposited a belt-high fastball from Scott Rice (3-5) into left field to give Arizona a 5-4 lead. The base hit gave Chaz Roe (1-0) his first career victory while Brad Ziegler worked around a pair of walks in the 15th for his first save of the season.

Arizona scratched for a run in the 13th and 14th innings, only to have Anthony Recker and Kirk Nieuwenhuis go deep to extend the contest. Recker's two-out blast off former Met Heath Bell knotted the game at 3-3 before Martin Prado regained the advantage for the Diamondbacks with a two-out RBI single in the 14th. Nieuwenhuis answered by launching a shot over the left-center field wall off Roe.

Nieves had a two-run single and Tony Campana and Prado added three hits for the National League West-leading Diamondbacks, who improved to 10-3 in extra-inning games this season.

Dillon Gee settled for a no-decision despite tossing seven solid innings and added a two-out RBI single in the fifth to forge a 2-2 tie. David Wright had a double and scored a run for the Mets, who went the extra mile with a 5-4 triumph in 13 innings in the series opener.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York 1B Josh Satin extended his career-high hitting streak to 10 games with a two-out single to left in the sixth inning. ... Arizona RHP Ian Kennedy settled for his fourth consecutive no-decision after matching Gee with nearly an identical pitching line. Both hurlers yielded two runs on six hits and walked a pair - although Kennedy's eight strikeouts were one more than that of Gee. ... The Diamondbacks will head west to open a 10-game homestand, highlighted by series against division rivals Colorado and Los Angeles. The Mets hit the road for three-game series against Milwaukee, San Francisco and Pittsburgh prior to the All-Star break.
