Rays 2, Orioles 1: Desmond Jennings hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning to back an outstanding start by Chris Archer as Tampa Bay began a 10-game homestand in solid fashion.

Archer (1-1) allowed a run on just two hits in seven innings to pick up his second major-league win. He retired 13 of the last 14 men he faced before Joel Peralta worked around a walk in the eighth and Fernando Rodney finished a perfect ninth with a strikeout of American League home run leader Chris Davis for his 13th save.

Despite the strong effort, Archer was on the wrong end of a 1-0 score before James Loney led off the seventh with a single against Baltimore starter Jason Hammel (7-4) and Jennings followed with a first-pitch blast over the wall in center.

Hammel allowed two more to reach in the frame before being pulled after 6 2/3 innings, falling short of becoming the fifth American League pitcher to reach eight wins.

Manny Machado gave Baltimore its only run with an RBI single up the middle with two outs in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Orioles' two hits marked a season low. ... Rays LHP David Price threw his first bullpen session Friday as he works his way back from a strained left triceps. The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner is scheduled to throw again Monday. ... Jennings has three home runs in 10 games against Baltimore this season.
