Giants 4, Rockies 2:
Melky Cabrera drove in two runs and Madison Bumgarner tossed 7 1/3 solid innings as host San Francisco picked up its second win of the season.

A game after giving up 17 runs on 22 hits, the Giants held the Rockies hitless until the bottom of the sixth. Bumgarner (1-1) allowed one run on four hits, fanning two and walking two.

Cabrera continued his hot play, going 2-for-4 to improve to 10-for-26 with five RBIs on the year. He drove a liner up the middle, beating a diving Troy Tulowitzki, and scored Brandon Crawford from second to give the Giants a two-run cushion in the top of the fourth.

Brett Pill opened scoring for San Francisco in the top of the third, slapping an RBI blooper into center field, scoring Pablo Sandoval from third base.

Jamie Moyer (0-2), 49, failed at his second attempt to become the oldest pitcher to win a major-league start. He threw 112 pitches through 5 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out three.

Tyler Colvin broke up Bumgarner’s no-hit bid in the bottom of the sixth when his drop shot beat a diving Cabrera in left for a triple. He found home plate on a single to shallow left from Dexter Fowler, putting the Rockies on the board.

Colorado threatened in the bottom of the ninth, scoring a run on a bases-loaded walk from close Brian Wilson, but couldn't come up with a clutch hit to drive in the tying runs.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The starting pitchers differed in age by 26 years and 256 days. … San Francisco entered Thursday with a MLB-worst 10 errors. … Wilson refused to come out in the ninth despite an apparent injury.
