Cardinals 11, Rockies 6: Matt Holliday doubled, homered and drove in four runs while Allen Craig went 3-for-3 with three RBIs as visiting St. Louis halted a two-game skid and handed Colorado its sixth straight loss.

Carlos Beltran and David Freese also went deep and Kyle Lohse extended his personal winning streak to five games for the Cardinals, who won for only the third time in 11 road contests.

Holliday got St. Louis on the board in the first inning with a two-run double off the base of the wall in right-center field, and Beltran followed with his 24th blast of the season for a 4-0 lead. The Cardinals flexed their muscles again in the seventh as Holliday launched a two-run shot into the Rockies' bullpen and Freese belted a solo homer to make it 9-5.

Craig delivered a two-out RBI single in the second and plated two with a base hit in the eighth to cap the scoring.

Lohse (11-2) improved to 5-3 lifetime against Colorado despite allowing five runs and nine hits over six innings. The right-hander, who walked two and struck out five, gave up more than three earned runs for only the third time in 22 starts this year.

Jeff Francis (3-3) suffered a rare loss to the Cardinals, surrendering five runs and six hits over four frames. The veteran left-hander fell to 6-2 in 12 career games against St. Louis.

Josh Rutledge hit a three-run homer while Eric Young Jr. and Jordan Pacheco collected three hits apiece for the Rockies, who have lost 10 of 12 both overall and at home.
