Dodgers 6, Cardinals 5: Elian Herrera scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk as Los Angeles continued its home dominance with a thrilling win over slumping St. Louis.

After Lance Berkman's solo home run tied the game for the Cardinals in the top half of the inning, Fernando Salas (0-2) handed the Dodgers the victory in the bottom half. Salas opened the frame by walking Herrera, who advanced to second on a one-out single by Adam Kennedy.

James Loney was intentionally walked to get to A.J. Ellis, who drew a four-pitch free pass as the Dodgers improved their major league-best home record to 17-4.

Kennedy finished 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Loney had three hits and a pair of RBIs.

Kenley Jansen (3-0) earned the win after blowing the save in the ninth. He struck out the side around Berkman's first home run of the season.

Matt Holliday belted his ninth homer for the Cardinals, who have dropped six of eight and are 1-2 on their five-game jaunt through the West Coast.

The Dodgers broke out to the early lead with three runs against Cardinals starter Lance Lynn. Loney doubled home Kennedy and scored on Ellis' single to left. Tony Gwynn followed with a run-scoring triple.

The Cardinals jumped in front in their next at-bat thanks to an Ellis throwing error and a wild pitch on a third strike that allowed Shane Robinson to reach base. Rafael Furcal had an RBI sacrifice fly and Matt Carpenter followed with a run-scoring single before Holliday took Dodgers lefty Ted Lilly deep to left.

A Kennedy RBI single knotted things at 4-4 in the bottom of the third and Loney pushed the Dodgers ahead with a run-scoring single in the seventh.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Lynn allowed four runs on nine hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out five. ... Lilly was charged with four runs - none earned - on four hits with six strikeouts. ... Carlos Beltran had the only multi-hit performance for St. Louis, going 2-for-4.
