Latos allowed singles to Neil Walker in the third and Nate McLouth in the fourth. He struck out three of the final four hitters he faced.

Stubbs finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base.

The Reds scored in the first on Joey Votto’s single to center and in the fifth on Brandon Phillips’ sacrifice fly to center.

Pittsburgh starter and loser Charlie Morton (1-3) gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) in six innings, walking two and striking out five. The Pirates lost for the fourth time in six games.
