Cardinals 7, Reds 1: Visiting St. Louis blasted three first-inning homers off Homer Bailey, winning for the fourth time in five games.

Matt Holliday, David Freese and Yadier Molina all took Bailey deep in the first, staking the Cardinals to a 4-0 lead before Jake Westbrook took the mound for St. Louis.

Bailey (0-1) retired the first two batters before Holliday hit a solo shot to left-center. After Bailey walked Lance Berkman, Freese followed with a two-run homer to right, and Molina went back-to-back with a solo homer to center.

Westbrook (1-0) benefited from the early uprising, allowing just three hits and striking out two in seven innings. Westbrook walked four, and his throwing error allowed Brandon Phillips to score in the fifth, bringing the Reds within 4-1.

Molina doubled home Berkman and Freese in the eighth to push the Cardinals’ lead to 6-1.

Bailey (0-1) settled down after the rough start, allowing six hits and four runs in 5 2/3 innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Phillips left the game in the top of the sixth with a cramp in his left hamstring. … Holliday, Freese and Molina each finished with two hits. ... The Reds finished with just three hits.
