Reds 6, Cubs 5 (11): Drew Stubbs delivered an RBI single in the 11th inning as visiting Cincinnati reduced its magic number for clinching the National League Central to three.

Stubbs had three hits and scored three runs while Joey Votto collected three RBIs for the Reds, who lead second-place St. Louis by 11 games with 13 remaining. Cincinnati (90-59), which has won six of eight, is one-half game behind Washington (90-58) for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

With two outs in the 11th inning, Brandon Phillips reached on a two-base error by right fielder David DeJesus. Stubbs followed with a single to left off Alberto Cabrera (0-1) that plated Phillips with the go-ahead run. Logan Ondrusek (5-2) escaped a bases-loaded jam in the 10th and Jonathan Broxton worked a perfect 11th for his 27th save of the season and fourth with the Reds.

Votto gave Cincinnati a 3-0 lead with an RBI double in the first inning and a two-run single in the third. The Cubs rallied from a 4-1 deficit as Alfonso Soriano highlighted a two-out, three-run rally in the sixth with a two-run homer and Welington Castillo drew a bases-loaded walk from J.J. Hoover in the eighth to forge a tie.

Starlin Castro went 4-for-5 with an RBI for Chicago, which fell to 2-4 on its 10-game homestand.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cubs 2B Darwin Barney went 0-for-5, ending his 13-game hitting streak. He did, however, extend his errorless streak to an NL-record 134 contests. ... Cincinnati bench coach Chris Speier served as manager in place of Dusty Baker, who went to a local hospital several hours before the start of the game for a chest X-ray to rule out pneumonia. ... Reds OF Ryan Ludwick left the game after 4 1/2 innings with a leg injury. Before exiting, Ludwick registered his 34th RBI at Wrigley Field over the last five seasons, tying Milwaukee's Ryan Braun for the most by any visiting player in that span.
