Twins 11, Tigers 7:
Brian Dozier hit a three-run homer and Josh Willingham had three hits as visiting Minnesota took advantage of four errors to reach a season high in runs scored.

Jamey Carroll doubled in the go-ahead runs and Ryan Doumit added two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Twins.

Carroll came up with runners on first and second in the sixth against left-hander Duane Below (2-1) and laced a 3-2 pitch down the line in left to put Minnesota on top, 8-7.

Alexi Casilla tacked on an RBI single in the seventh and Trevor Plouffe put the game away with a two-run blast in the ninth.

Alex Burnett (1-0) earned the win in relief.

Minnesota jumped all over the Tigers early, taking advantage of Rick Porcello and some suspect defense. Joe Mauer and Willingham hit back-to-back RBI doubles following Prince Fielder’s error in the first.

Detroit second baseman Ryan Raburn made an error in the second that should have been the third out. Dozier followed with his three-run homer.

Nick Blackburn allowed a run in the first and gave it all back in the bottom of the second, surrendering five runs on a walk, five straight singles and a sacrifice fly as Detroit seized a 6-5 lead.

The Twins tied it up on Doumit’s RBI single in the third but Miguel Cabrera gave the Tigers the lead again, 7-6, with a double in the fifth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Twins 1B Justin Morneau was activated from the disabled list before the game and started at first base, going 1-for-5 with a double. … Tigers CF Austin Jackson left the game after the fourth with a mild abdominal strain. He is day-to-day. … Detroit closer Jose Valverde, who left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning, is out for a few days with a lower back strain.
