Indians 7, Twins 6: Russ Canzler homered and drove in three while Michael Brantley singled in a run and scored twice for visiting Cleveland, which has won four of six.

Shin-Soo Choo drove in a run among three hits and Casey Kotchman tacked on a run-scoring single for the Indians, who matched their run total from the previous three games. After going 5-24 in August, Cleveland has started September with a 4-2 mark.

David Huff (1-0) struck out four in 3 1/3 perfect innings of relief and two more relievers bridged the gap to closer Chris Perez, who allowed a run in the ninth but finished it out for his 35th save.

Minnesota looked ready to run away with it early as it got to Jeanmar Gomez for a run in the second and three more in the third.

The Indians began their comeback in the fourth behind Canzler, who followed Brantley’s single by driving a first-pitch slider into the second row in left-center for his first major-league blast. The 26-year-old Canzler has hit safely in each of his five games since being recalled on Sept. 1.

Cleveland tied it in the fifth as Choo sparked the rally with an RBI single and Canzler chased home Jason Kipnis with a single.

Brantley provided some breathing room and started a three-run uprising with an RBI single in the seventh. Kotchman also singled in a run and Cord Phelps drew a bases-loaded walk to make it a 7-4 edge.

Tyler Robertson (1-2) suffered the loss in relief.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Liam Hendriks again failed to earn his first major-league win for Minnesota. The right-hander was charged with four runs on eight hits in five innings. … Indians RHP Carlos Carrasco (elbow) threw a perfect inning for Double-A Akron in his first game since undergoing Tommy John surgery last year. … Twins CF Denard Span (shoulder) is scheduled to take batting practice on Saturday and hopes to return next week.
