Indians 6, Rangers 3: Shin-Soo Choo belted a two-run homer and Johnny Damon added a two-run triple to power host Cleveland to its third straight victory.

Jack Hannahan had two hits and a solo home run to back seven steady innings from Jeanmar Gomez as the Indians handed Texas its third straight defeat.

Gomez (2-1) gave up three runs on eight hits in his longest start of the year, helping Cleveland beat the Rangers for only the fifth time in 26 games and second in 13 contests at Progressive Field. Rangers starter Colby Lewis (3-1) had his roughest outing of the season, allowing six runs on 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Choo's first homer staked Gomez to a 2-0 lead in the second and Hannahan went deep in the bottom of the third to make it 3-1. Hannahan's long shot down the right-field line appeared to be a triple but he was awarded a home run upon video review.

Texas inched back to tie it with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings. Michael Young triggered both rallies with one-out doubles and scored on a double by David Murphy and a single by Nelson Cruz, who ended an 0-for-14 skid.

Travis Hafner's sacrifice fly in the sixth plated Jason Kipner, who extended his hitting streak to eight games, to put Cleveland ahead for good.

Damon, in his third game overall and first at home since signing with the Indians, broke it open and ended Lewis' night with his triple in the seventh for a 6-3 lead.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rangers SS Elvis Andrus singled in the first and has hit safely in all 24 career games against Cleveland ... Texas CF Josh Hamilton returned to the lineup after missing three games with a balky back. The AL Player of the Month for April, Hamilton entered the night tied for the AL lead in home runs (9), leading in RBIs (25) and second in batting average (.395) ... The Indians traded OF Ryan Spilborghs to the Rangers on Friday for cash considerations. Spilborghs, 32, has a career .272 lifetime batting average in six seasons with the Colorado Rockies.
