Mets 7, Phillies 4:
Kirk Nieuwenhuis recorded two RBI and scored twice as visiting New York rallied from four runs down to complete a late-inning comeback for the second straight night.

The Mets, who won Monday's opener on a ninth-inning home run, took the lead with four straight two-out hits in the top of the seventh to extend their winning streak to four games.

Nieuwenhuis cut the deficit in half with a RBI single and scored the tying run on a throwing error at third base following David Wright’s RBI single.

Wright, who was caught in a rundown when Pete Orr made the bad throw, advanced to third on the error and Lucas Duda drove in the go-ahead run with a single to right field. Duda added another two-out RBI single in the ninth.

Nieuwenhuis scored on a RBI single to left from Ike Davis in the fourth and gave New York an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth.

Miguel Batista, making just his second start of the season, lasted 5 1/3 innings and gave up two earned runs on eight hits. Jon Rauch earned his first save and Manny Acosta (1-2) was awarded the win.

The Phillies lost for the fourth time in the past five games and have just two wins in their last seven outings.

Hunter Pence opened the scoring with a two-run home run to center field in the bottom of the first.

Back-to-back throwing errors led to RBIs from Orr and Shane Victorino, putting the Phillies up 4-0 in the second inning.

Joe Blanton allowed four runs on five hits, striking out seven over 6 2/3 innings. Chad Qualls (1-1) was handed the loss after surrendering the go-ahead run.
