Mets 5, Marlins 3: Kelly Shoppach's two-out, two-run single to center field capped a four-run uprising in the ninth inning as visiting New York recorded its sixth win in seven outings.

After being handcuffed for just three hits over eight brilliant innings by starter Josh Johnson, the Mets teed off on Steve Cishek (4-2) in the ninth. Lucas Duda's RBI single trimmed the deficit to one at 3-2 before New York loaded the bases. Shoppach then ripped a slider into center which easily scored David Wright, but outfielder Justin Ruggiano misplayed the ball, allowing pinch-runner Jason Bay and Andres Torres to score.

Ramon Ramirez (3-3) picked up the victory despite allowing a run in the eighth inning. Frank Francisco retired the side in order in the ninth for his 23rd save.

The Mets' ninth-inning rally prevented Johnson from snapping a career-worst four-game losing streak. The Marlins' ace struck out four in the dominating performance.

Carlos Lee collected three hits - including a run-scoring single - while Bryan Petersen and Giancarlo Stanton also had RBI base hits for the Marlins, who have dropped three in a row and six of eight.

Mike Baxter led off the fifth inning with a double and came around to score on Josh Thole's groundout. Thole snapped an 0-for-30 stretch with a single to lead off the eighth inning for the Mets.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami's Jose Reyes recorded his 30th stolen base of the season and 400th career by taking second base in the eighth inning. The former Met came around to score on Lee's single to shallow right-center field. ... Petersen launched a towering shot to center which fell just beyond the outstretched glove of CF Torres in the third inning. Donovan Solano scored to give Miami an early 1-0 lead. ... New York recalled C Mike Nickeas and INF Zach Lutz from Triple-A Buffalo prior to the game.
