Phillies 1, Marlins 0: Jimmy Rollins hit his 41st career leadoff home run and Kyle Kendrick outdueled Josh Johnson as host Miami was shut out for the third straight game.

Kendrick (5-9) gave up five hits over seven scoreless innings and improved to 5-0 in his last six starts against the Marlins. Jonathan Papelbon retired Giancarlo Stanton with a runner on in the ninth for his 26th save.

Johnson (7-9) was the hard-luck loser after giving up three hits and striking out seven over eight innings. Miami’s 27-inning scoreless streak matches a franchise record.

Rollins, who lined Johnson’s second pitch of the game into the second deck in right field, passed Larry Bowa for the most games played at shortstop in Phillies history with 1,731.

Philadelphia won its third straight game despite being out-hit 5-4. The Phillies snapped a five-game losing streak to the Marlins in Monday’s series opener, when Cole Hamels tossed a complete-game shutout in a 4-0 win.

The Marlins were shut out for the 13th time and have been outscored 24-10 in six games since beating the New York Mets 13-0 last Wednesday.

The game marked the first time a leadoff homer was the only run scored since Seattle beat Tampa on Ichiro Suzuki’s home run April 23, 2009.
