Marlins 7, Dodgers 3: Miami turned the game around with a big fifth inning and Carlos Lee's two-run double in the three-run eighth put it away as the Marlins evened their series with visiting Los Angeles at a game apiece.
The Dodgers staked Joe Blanton to a 2-0 lead, but Miami strung together five hits and a successful squeeze bunt to push across four runs in the fifth.
The Marlins' fifth-inning outburst ensured starter Ricky Nolasco did not tie Brad Hand's dubious franchise record of losing six straight starts. Nolasco (9-11) allowed nine hits over five innings but limited the damage to two runs to win for the first time since July 6.
Blanton (8-10) is winless in his first two starts since the Dodgers acquired him from Philadelphia. He allowed four runs on six hits over five innings.
Los Angeles fell one game behind San Francisco in the National League West. The Giants defeated the Rockies 9-3 on Saturday.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Dodgers lost for the first time this season in the Eastern time zone, falling to 8-1. ... Marlins SS Jose Reyes (hand) returned to the lineup and went 1-for-3 after sitting out Friday's series opener. … Marlins 3B Greg Dobbs was a late scratch from the lineup with a tight left oblique. … Dodgers INF Jerry Hairston Jr. left the game with tightness in his left hip. … Dodgers OF Matt Kemp went 3-for-5 for his 25th multi-hit performance in 62 games this season, raising his average to .359. … Three-time Olympic gold medalist beach volleyball player Misty May-Treanor, who is married to Dodgers C Matt Treanor, was in attendance.
