Braves 4, Pirates 3: Tim Hudson tossed five solid innings in his season debut and Martin Prado homered as Atlanta won for the 14th time in 18 games.

Michael Bourn collected three hits and scored a run for the Braves, who have won seven of nine at home.

Hudson (1-0), who underwent surgery in November to repair a herniated disk in his back, surrendered two runs and six hits. The 36-year-old right-hander walked two and hit a batter while striking out six.

Craig Kimbrel yielded a run in the ninth before securing his eighth save in as many opportunities.

Hudson fell behind in the second inning as Jose Tabata singled with the bases loaded to drive in two runs. But Freddie Freeman lifted a sacrifice fly following two Pittsburgh errors in the third and Tyler Pastornicky hit an RBI double an inning later to tie the contest.

Bourn scored the go-ahead run in the fifth when Kevin Correia (1-1) issued his third walk of the inning to Dan Uggla with the bases loaded. Prado doubled the lead in the seventh with a leadoff blast off Brad Lincoln, his second homer of the season.

Correia exited after the walk to Uggla, allowing three runs - two earned - and four hits with five walks in 4 1/3 innings.

Tabata finished with three hits and Pedro Alvarez went 2-for-4 for Pittsburgh, which has yet to score more than five runs in a game this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: C Brian McCann was back in the lineup for the Braves after missing Saturday's game with a pulled ribcage muscle. McCann went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks. ... Correia entered Sunday averaging 1.5 walks per nine innings. ... The Pirates were on the verge of finishing with two runs or less for the eighth time in 12 games before Tabata scored on a two-out wild pitch by Kimbrel in the ninth inning.
