Blue Jays 11, Angels 2: Brett Lawrie went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and three runs scored and Yunel Escobar homered during a seven-run second inning as Toronto's offense kept clicking.

It was the Blue Jays' second straight win over visiting Los Angeles, which has lost back-to-back games for the first time since June 3-4.

Henderson Alvarez (5-6) shut down the Angels for the second time this season - he threw a six-hit shutout against them May 4, holding Los Angeles to one run on seven hits over seven innings. Alvarez won at home for the first time since April 29.

The Blue Jays got some help from the Angels' defense, which made two errors in the seven-run second. Five of the runs were unearned because they came after center fielder Peter Bourjos misplayed a Lawrie fly ball that would have been the third out.

Angels starter Garrett Richards (2-1) was charged with 10 runs (five earned) on nine hits over 4 1/3 innings. His ERA spiked from 1.63 to 2.81.

Angels rookie Mike Trout had a rough game, going 0-for-4 to snap his 11-game hitting streak and making two defensive miscues in the big second inning. He made a throwing error and misplayed Kelly Johnson's fly ball, which bounced over his head for an RBI triple.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Blue Jays have scored 25 runs in the first three games of the series, and 13 have come on six home runs. … The Angels finished June with a 17-9 record. … Los Angeles had won 14 of 15 road games before losing the last two. … Angels SS Andrew Romine went 3-for-4 with an RBI, doubling his career hit total.
