Rangers 8, Blue Jays 7 (13):
Josh Hamilton belted his major-league leading 20th homer in the 13th, a two-run shot to rally host Texas.

Hamilton came through against Toronto reliever Jason Frasor (0-1), after the Blue Jays broke a 5-5 tie with two runs in the top of the inning.

Ian Kinsler drew a leadoff walk in the 13th and scored on Elvis Andrus' double to left-center, pulling the Rangers within 7-6. Hamilton, who was bothered by flu-like symptoms throughout the game, connected on a 1-2 pitch to dead center.

Toronto's Omar Vizquel, the oldest position player in the majors at age 45, singled off reliever Robbie Ross to plate Brett Lawrie in the top of the 13th, snapping a 5-5 tie. Vizquel, who finished 3-for-6 with two RBIs, scored on Nelson Cruz's error to push Toronto's lead to 7-5.

Yoshinori Tateyama (1-0) earned the victory.

Down 4-2, Texas stormed back with back-to-back-to-back homers in the bottom of the sixth off Toronto starter Henderson Alvarez. Nelson Cruz, Yorvit Torrealba and Mitch Moreland went deep off Alvarez, Moreland’s shot giving Texas a 5-4 advantage.

Alvarez hit the next hitter, Kinsler, with a pitch and was ejected by home plate umpire Marty Foster.

Toronto tied it in the top of the seventh. Jose Bautista doubled and scored on J.P. Arencibia’s one-out single to center to make it 5-5.

Alvarez allowed nine hits and five runs in 5 2/3 innings. Texas starter Colby Lewis gave up 10 hits and four runs in 5 1/3 innings, striking out six.
