Rays 7, Blue Jays 1: Sean Rodriguez drilled a two-run double to cap a six-run fifth inning and spark visiting Tampa Bay to its second straight victory.

The third baseman went 2-for-4 and has hit safely in 10 of the last 11 games. He had a 10-game hitting streak snapped Sunday when he struck out in his only at-bat after entering as a late-inning replacement

The Rays didn’t get their first hit off Toronto starter Brandon Morrow (4-1) until the fifth inning, when Will Rhymes struck a leadoff double, his first extra base hit in six games. The rally picked up steam thanks to an error by first baseman Adam Lind, which led to five unearned runs.

Luke Scott drove in two runs with a single to shallow left and Rodriguez put it away with a long double. Tampa Bay added an insurance run in the ninth on Ben Zobrist’s sixth homer, the second straight game in which he has gone deep.

Carlos Ramos picked up his first career victory in relief of starter Jeff Niemann, who left after being struck on the right ankle by Adam Lind’s line drive in the first inning. Niemann suffered a small fracture and is expected to miss at least the next 4-to-6 weeks.

Ramos (1-0) pitched three innings, allowing two hits and one run in his second appearance of the season and first since May 6.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Niemann finished the first inning and came out to start the second, but left the game before facing another batter. Niemann was taken to the hospital for X-rays which revealed the fracture. ... Morrow struck out seven batters in five innings and has 37 in his last five games. ... Carlos Pena continues to struggle against Toronto pitchers: He was 0-for-4 and is 4-for-30 in his last nine games against the Blue Jays. ... Kelly Johnson had two of Toronto’s three hits, and has hit in five straight games and in eight of nine. ... Toronto has lost two straight and is 8-8 at home.
