Yankees 5, Blue Jays 2: Ivan Nova threw 7 1/3 sensational innings and Casey McGehee belted a three-run homer as visiting New York won its fourth straight game.

Nova (11-6) breezed through Toronto's patchwork lineup, limiting the Blue Jays to two runs on five hits while striking out 10. The right-hander came into the game having allowed 16 runs over 10 1/3 innings in his previous two starts.

Derek Jeter added two hits and an RBI for the Yankees, who lead the Tampa Bay Rays by six games in the American League East.

New York broke things open with a four-run fourth inning against Blue Jays starter Aaron Laffey (3-3). With runners on first and second and two out, Jayson Nix lined a single to left field that brought home Mark Teixeira, who slid in just ahead of the throw from Rajai Davis.

McGehee followed with a blast into the second deck in center field, his ninth home run of the season and first since coming to New York in a trade with Milwaukee.

Toronto got on the board in the fourth. Davis reached on a single, stole second base and came around to score on Edwin Encarnacion's line-drive single to right field.

New York made it 5-1 in the sixth on doubles from McGehee and Jeter.
