Yankees 5, Mets 4:
Russell Martin hit a walk-off home run - his second blast of the game - as the host Yankees completed a three-game sweep of the Subway Series.

Martin worked the count to 3-2 leading off the ninth against right-hander Jon Rauch (3-6) and got a slider over the middle of the plate. Martin pulled a long fly into the left field seats for his eighth homer of the season.

Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira each added an RBI for the Yankees and Boone Logan (1-0) got the win in relief.

The Mets tied it, 4-4, in the top of the ninth as Lucas Duda led off with a double to center and Ike Davis followed with an RBI double into the right-center field gap off Rafael Soriano. Davis entered that at-bat with a .162 average and no ninth-inning hits on the season.

The Yankees trailed 3-0 for most of the afternoon but cut the deficit to one when Martin’s blast accounted for two unearned runs in the seventh. Third baseman David Wright threw a ball into the dirt that Vinny Rottino could not secure, allowing Andruw Jones to reach with two outs.

Martin followed and sent a line drive to right field that skipped off the top of the wall and was grabbed by a fan in the front row to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Yankees took the lead in the eighth. Bobby Parnell came out of the bullpen and gave up four straight hits without recording an out. Teixeira’s single to center brought in Derek Jeter with the tying run and Rodriguez followed by lifting a single to right, plating Curtis Granderson.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rodriguez’s eight-inning RBI was career No. 1,918, moving him past Eddie Murray and into sole possession of seventh place on the all-time list. … The Mets host the second edition of the 2012 Subway series from June 22-24. … Soriano’s blown save was his first in 10 chances this season.
